Seward and Lowell Point

Without a doubt, Seward is my favorite place in Alaska.  There is just something about this little town on the bay.  Not only is it surrounded by beautiful mountains and Resurrection Bay, but it holds a small town charm of it's own.  It is a port town and some of the cruise ships do dock there, but as one local told me, Seward is more of place where people just pass through to go someplace else.

I spent two nights in an area just north of Seward called Lowell Point, in my very own beach cottage right on Resurrection Bay.  The view couldn't have been better.  The shore was full of sea birds and the fresh air was wonderful! Since I visited in October, I missed a lot of the marine life and I had the black sand beach all to myself. It was glorious! The hosts of the Angel's Rest beach cottage couldn't have been more accommodating.. It was just perfect!

I tried to see the Northern Lights one clear night but I was too scared to go outside by myself.  The woods were right behind me and I didn't want any late night encounters.  I could barely see some movement in the clouds so maybe next time.  I will definitely visit again.

This beach cottage was so peaceful and I spent a lot of time just talking with God and being quiet with my own thoughts.  It was the best part of the trip.
